Piha-North-Beach surreal desert seascape seems fated which is why its the site of the mystery of existence – the space of abandonment or the worldly wasteland – that it lives at the edge of an abyss of meaninglessness of Tasmania ocean, it barely keeps from falling into, indeed we experience a sense of not being abandoned – once camera is focused on the surfer who brings this surreal desert seascape back to real deal life – and we only live it.

Surfer as so-called conceptual – post purist – within seascape concerned  – expressive – order of effects as its literal order of surfing. The pursuit of purity elevates the surfer as one riding the wave-out, over the former who crashes and “burns”. But purity invariably runs into an expressive dead end – it lasts only until the next crash and burn ( wipe out – old timer talk 1950s). For travelers this area is the poor cousin of the south beach.
